The beginning is slow and many people I've talked to have said that they stopped playing because of the beginning missions. Stick with it as it only gets better. The world is unforgiving as the law tries to keep order but there's too many bad guys out there. The main story is great and the ending sucks in a sad way. The Xbox 360/One servers have finally been fixed since 3 weeks ago after being broken due to a hack from 3-4 years ago. The online isn't the same like it was before the hack, but it is now playable. The reason I say this is because the AI spawning, animations, and playstyle appear to be slightly more buggy at times than what I remember. Outside of that, the story in the game is great and adopts a lot of elements from Classic Westerns.

The game still looks gorgeous for its age with it having arguably the most immersive world in gaming due to the music, wildlife (with animals having the most realistic habits and movement), various activities ( gambling, bounty hunting, etc), and character interractions. On top of those, the gunplay is very fun. However, the game does suffer at times by recycling some areas for separate missions. The game is widely considered as one of the greatest games of all time.
